Hints and Tips - from Duncan MacKenzie - 25.02.08
Many thanks to Sarah Riley as due to her ideas we have been able to sign up a pub as a business customer and one of our existing customers (estate /letting agent) has now joined the team as an independent distributor.
DVDs - It has been said before in recent days that Independent Financial Advisors and Mortgage Brokers are feeling the crunch and looking for a second income. Make contact with two and ask if they weill watch the video on your website, or send them a DVD and remember to follow up after a day or so.
Independence Newspapers - Drop two off at tanning studios, leave a card and DVD for the owner, due to the amount of electricity they use - a perfect customer! Ask if you can leave some Independence newspapers in the waiting area for people to read.
Text Messages - Why not try washing machine repairers? They are in people's homes every day. Send a text and invite them to try the business opportunity. Also 'ironing services' - they use lots of electricity and visit numerous customers on a weekly basis. They have any customers that know, like and trust them.
Email - Who else visit people's homes - why not email 'pet services' - dog walkers, cat sitting services, dog groomers, kennels, boarding facilities etc.... they all have lots of customers that use their services on a regular basis.
Business Cards - this should now be automatic to you - remember the three foot rule...... anyone who is within three feet of you gets a business card from you. Give them to anyone and everyone. "Be a snail, leave a trail".
As per Sarah's message a few days ago, 'Wear your badge with pride' ... get some badges from the marketing department and they will encourage people to ask you what it's all about.
Have a brilliant week, Duncan.
Many thanks to Duncan for these great tips.
